LNA combat unit acquires Inkas Titan-DS armoured vehicles

Forces allied with the Libyan National Army (LNA), the Tariq Bin Ziyad Combat Group, a tactical unit of the LNA is now operating the UAE-made Inkas Titan-DS armoured vehicle.

According to photographs which appeared on Social media on 4 February, shows at least three Titan-DS vehicles, with the unit’s insignia on it. The Titan 4×4 vehicles are designed and manufactured by the Company INKAS Vehicles LLC.

The Titan-DS is based on a Dodge Ram F5500 Tradesman® Chassis Cab powered by a 6.7L Cummins® I-6 Turbo Diesel engine coupled to a 6-Speed AISIN® Automatic transmissions. The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km.

The Titan-DS can accommodate 12 military personnel including driver and commander.

Libya which is under a UN arms embargo has continuously received various arms and ammunition from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, and Qatar.

The LNA, in particular, has received different types of armoured vehicles, especially from the UAE and Egypt, while the Government of National Accord, — the UN-recognized administration in Tripoli has received arms and training from Turkey and Qatar.

The Armored Group (TAG) and its Libyan partner Ismail Al-Shtewi have supplied several Terrier LT-79 armored vehicles to the Libyan National Army (LNA).

At least eight Terrier LT-79 armoured vehicles were seen in a video the group released on 9 December during a parade by the 106th Brigade Special Operations unit.

In an apparent response to Turkey delivering dozens of the BMC Kirpi armoured vehicle to forces allied with the GNA, the Jordanian government has delivered an unknown number of its indigenous KADDB Al-Mared 8×8 armoured vehicle, as well as the Paramount Mbombe 6×6 armoured vehicle to Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA).
