Proforce, AUTOKRAZ signs agreement on joint vehicle production
Nigeria’s Proforce limited and Ukrainian PJSC AUTOKRAZ has signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly assemble the KrAZ trucks in Ogun state, Nigeria.
The agreement will see the manufacture of both military and civilian grade heavy-duty off-road trucks under the brand name KRAZ-PROFORCE, and Ukrainian military technology would be transferred to Nigeria.
“We believe there are many synergies between our companies that can be leveraged to build powerful industrial capability that Nigeria requires.
Over the next 12 months, the Partnership will roll out world standard trucks that are tailored to suit the Nigerian and African markets. This joint venture will impact the economy of Nigeria by creating new jobs, at the same time contributing to the technological development of the country.”
PJSC AUTOKRAZ, which is currently the largest Ukrainian producer of heavy-duty vehicles, the company manufactures a wide range of trucks and spare parts to them, trailers and semi-trailers. Moreover, the automobile plant makes grinding balls for mining companies, car casting, and various tools.
Production of KrAZ trucks is oriented to core market segments: building industry, road industry and public services, mining and logging industry, oil and gas sector, armed forces and disaster response units.
KrAZ sales geography is extending due to penetration to new markets: the company has recently managed to enter markets of Rwanda, Myanmar, Macedonia, Philippines, and Thailand where KrAZ was not present before.
Nigeria is expected to purchase one hundred KRAZ-PROFORCE which has been capptured in the 2020 budget.
Meanwhile, Proforce Nigeria Limited, a Nigerian company specializing in armored vehicle manufacturing, repairs & refurbishment has also signed a technical partnership with Atesci for ammunition production.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the just recently concluded IDEF’19, 14th International Defence Industry Fair held in Turkey.
Atesci which is located in Ostim,Yenimahalle, Ankara the largest industrial zone in Turkey designs and assembles various machinery, tooling, and equipment as well as a turn-key ammunition production line solutions.
